An innovative programme of activities at the on-site vineyard at Les Jardins de St Benoît provides guests with the opportunity to participate in the centuries' old traditions of wine-making: harvesting, pressing, assemblage and of course tasting the best wines the South of France has to offer!

Beside the vineyard is a three-acre olive grove producing the venerable Lucques de Bize. Recognized by the connoisseur as the finest of all olives, this plump green fruit has a fine pulpy flesh with a delicate flavour of butter and hazelnut. In partnership with the Oulibo olive co-operative guests at Les Jardins have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the lifecycle of the olive - from planting to harvesting, pressing to manufacture.

For centuries, the medieval Gardens of St Benoît have been a source of local produce and a retreat for relaxation and reflection for the local community. Now, together with the town council, Garrigae has restored the patchwork of gardens as a natural haven to be enjoyed by villagers and guests alike. Each garden has been restored as a distinct space with its own unique atmosphere - a quiet place to read a book; a herb garden alive with the scent of lavender, thyme, and rosemary; a water garden; a private arboretum for morning yoga or a shady glade for a picnic with the children. The gardens also grow organic vegetables for the restaurant, and give children the chance to learn about cultivating natural foods.

With fiestas and other local events taking place seemingly every other day, the vibrancy of the Languedoc life is tempered only by devotion to an unhurried pace of life that is quintessentially Mediterranean.

At Les Jardins de St Benoît throughout the year, guests and locals alike will partake in a wide range of activities – social, cultural, gastronomic and sporting – both on the estate and in the village and surrounding areas.
